Predictions sometimes come true because of evidence or because some type of patterned that the person has seen. If you predict something is because you have data about the topic. For example a day before the election on Nov. 6th In my history class my teacher made us do a map about what states where going to vote for who. Also what president the states were leaning towards to. He had some numbers and data and we filled it in. At the end of class he said to predict who was going to win in the end. I predicted it was Obama because i had data and numbers. I predicted he was going to win and he did.
A prediction can come true also because a person wants it to. A person can ask an opinion and what they think is going to happen. The other person can tell them and not even be sure about it. The first person makes what the other person predicted happen to make them feel happy or something. That's another way a prediction can come true.
